Victory square

Victory square (Belor. Ploshcha Peramogi) — an area in the center of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. A memorable place in honor of the feat of the people during the great Patriotic war. Located on independence Avenue, beyond the floodplain of the river Svisloch between the streets of Zakharov and Kiselev. Until November 1958, it was called Round square. July 1, 1984 on the square were installed pedestals with capsules with earth hero cities: Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Kiev, Odessa, Sevastopol, Kerch, Novorossiysk, Tula, Brest.
