The memorial complex "Khatyn»

Today you will not find this Belarusian village on any of the most detailed maps. It was destroyed by the Nazis in the spring of 1943. Khatyn — the former village of logoy district of Minsk region of Belarus — has become a symbol of the tragedy of the Belarusian people, a mournful page in the history of the great Patriotic war. In memory of the dead 2230000 inhabitants of Belarus — every fourth — in 1969. a memorial complex was built on the site of the village of Khatyn burned together with the residents, which embodies the idea of courage and disobedience of the people who made countless sacrifices in the name of victory.
